S&W Advises on Sale of The Providence Projects Rehab Group to UKAT

The Corporate Finance division of S&W, a leading professional services and advisory firm, has successfully acted as lead adviser to the shareholders of The Providence Projects Rehab Group, a prominent UK provider of private alcohol and drug rehabilitation services, in its sale to the UKAT Group. The acquisition is backed by Sullivan Street Partners.

Founded in 1996, The Providence Projects has grown to become one of the UK’s foremost providers of accessible private treatment for alcohol and drug addiction. Headquartered in Bournemouth, the organisation delivers a broad spectrum of clinically supported treatment programmes for substance misuse. Its dedicated team comprises experienced addiction professionals, therapists, and support staff committed to guiding clients toward sustainable recovery.

The acquiring party, UKAT Group, operates a nationwide network of CQC-regulated residential rehabilitation clinics and is recognised as one of the UK’s leading private providers of addiction treatment. The organisation is known for delivering high-quality, evidence-based care and support to individuals facing addiction challenges.

The deal adds to an already impressive list of healthcare credentials for S&W’s Corporate Finance team, following on from the sale of Oakleaf Care to CareTech Holdings Plc, and The Mole Clinic on its sale to Sk:n.

S&W, were appointed by the Shareholders to go to market and identify a buyer for the business and ran a highly competitive sale process, and negotiated and advised on all financial, commercial and marketing aspects of the deal.

Ben Laing, who led the deal from S&W, commented: “It was a real privilege to advise Paul and the team at The Providence Projects. They’ve built an exceptional business delivering life-changing support, and we were proud to help guide them through a successful sale to UKAT.”

Paul Spanjar, CEO of The Providence Projects, said: “Choosing to join the UKAT Group was about ensuring the long-term future of Providence. We’ve always prioritised client care and clinical integrity, and in UKAT, we saw an organisation that shares those values. This move allows us to grow, invest and continue changing lives together.”

S&W is a UK member firm of Oaklins International Inc, the leading mid-market global M&A advisory firm.
