Vesari Geothermal AI Campus Lands Utah FORGE Scientist

Vesari, the geothermal AI campus developer backed by Tekcapital, has appointed Dr Joseph N. Moore to its newly formed Science Advisory Board. Moore served as managing principal investigator of the US Department of Energy’s Utah FORGE programme from 2014 to early 2026.

Tekcapital holds a 51 percent stake in Vesari’s common stock, according to FT Markets.

Utah FORGE and the Science Behind the Hire

Moore brings five decades of experience in the geology and geochemistry of geothermal systems. Utah FORGE, the approximately $300m Department of Energy-funded field laboratory in Beaver County, Utah, is the flagship US programme for enhanced geothermal systems (EGS) research.

The site sits roughly 10 miles northeast of Milford and is managed by the University of Utah’s Energy and Geoscience Institute on private, State of Utah, and Bureau of Land Management lands, according to the DOE’s FORGE Environmental Assessment.

During Moore’s tenure, Utah FORGE confirmed connectivity between a newly drilled production well and the site’s existing injection well. Moore described it as ‘a crucial next step in the Utah FORGE project’s goal of de-risking the tools and technologies required for making enhanced geothermal systems technologies commercially viable,’ according to a DOE breakthrough announcement.

Moore also led the Raft River EGS demonstration project in Idaho, which illustrated the role of cold-water injection in enhancing reservoir permeability.

The DOE has separately committed up to $44 million for projects to develop and test EGS technology, underscoring federal backing for the sector Vesari is targeting.

Moore said: ‘Geothermal energy is uniquely suited to deliver the clean, firm, around-the-clock power that AI computing now demands. Vesari’s approach to pairing baseload geothermal generation directly with high-density compute is a compelling application of the science, and I look forward to contributing to the Company’s development.’

Vesari’s Geothermal AI Campus Takes Shape

Vesari is developing a fully integrated, behind-the-meter, geothermal-powered hyperscale AI compute campus. The company is assembling advisers across three technical pillars: geothermal energy, hyperscale power and heat management, and low-Earth-orbit satellite laser data transmission.

On 15 July 2026, Tekcapital announced that Vesari had filed eleven US patent applications, according to Kalkine Media. The applications cover islanded electrical systems, waste heat recovery, energy-aware workload orchestration, low-Earth-orbit satellite connectivity, and a carbon-free commercial operating layer.

Tekcapital has also opened early conversations with US investment bankers on a potential route to the public markets for Vesari, including a reverse merger or de-SPAC transaction, FT Markets reported.

Vesari is Tekcapital’s fifth portfolio company, alongside MicroSalt, GenIP, Innovative Eyewear, and Guident.

Moore’s appointment adds scientific credibility at a moment when the viability of EGS at commercial scale remains the central question for investors assessing Vesari’s US listing ambitions.
